🥊 Lunch Break Rescue [True Story]

Back in elementary school, I'd walk to and from school for lunch every day.

We always walked with a buddy.

One day, I was about three blocks from school, with my friend Michael.

We were crossing the road, when suddenly three guys in a blue car pulled up next to us.

I vividly remember one guy. He was dressed head to toe in denim, with long brown hair.

He hopped out of the car, and I saw rope and pulleys in the back seat 😱

The guy grabbed me from behind, and I freaked out.

There was no way I was getting in that car.

I swung my body, threw my head back and forth, and finally hit him square in the nose with the back of my head.

I’m pretty sure I broke it.

Then, I started kicking…

I hoofed him between the legs as hard as I could.

Did I mention it was also winter? This made it even harder for the guy to get a hold of me.

A lady in the neighborhood heard the commotion outside her home.

When the woman came out, the guy instantly dropped me and took off.

The lady was smart and wrote the license plate number in the snow!

The cops were called, and my parents met me at Michael's home.

They never found the men.

The cops guessed it was a stolen car and never figured out a motive 🤷‍♂️

For the next year, I had to take a different route to school, double the distance.

I hated it.

But if the worst I had to deal with was a bit of a longer walk to school, I'd consider myself extremely lucky.

In business, we often face unexpected challenges that can feel like it’s out of our control.

Maybe it's a competitor trying to steal your clients, or a sudden market shift threatening your revenue.

The key is to stay alert, think quickly, and fight back with everything you've got.

Just like I had to change my route to school, sometimes you need to adapt your strategy to protect your business.

Remember, if you can come out the other side with your business intact, consider yourself lucky.
