💰 101 Ways to Die - Play Chicken With a Train [True Story]
Back in the day, my buddies, Ron, Jamie, and I played a really stupid game… on a train bridge 🤦♂️
It was called "Chicken."
You know it?
We'd wait on one side of a bridge until we saw the light from the oncoming train. That was the “green flag” to run across the bridge.
It was a simple game.
Get across the bridge before the train 🚂
It sounds pretty stupid saying this now…
But back then, it was an adrenaline rush.
It was getting to easy, so we made the game even more difficult by adding additional seconds before we could start our sprint.
Well, it was my turn on this snow-covered and freezing cold night in Quebec.
I counted down a few seconds after I saw the train and then took off.
As I dashed towards the bridge, I realized something wasn't right.
The train was closing in and faster than ever.
I had to make a choice.
Try to make it across before the train gets to me… ☠️
Or aim for the snowbank beside the river, underneath the bridge.
Did I mention the river was iced over, and if I fell through… let’s just say that wasn’t exactly an option.
At the last second, I jumped 🤞
Luckily, I ended up in the snow bank but not without some major injuries.
The frozen concrete edge of the bridge collided with my knee when I was jumping.
Unfortunately, I had a past injury to that exact knee (that’s another story). So this stunt ended up taking me out of competitive hockey forever.
To this day, the scars on my knee serve as a stark reminder of the risks we took in our youth.
How I apply this to business:
Assess Risks Properly: While taking risks can sometimes lead to thrilling outcomes and big rewards, it's crucial to assess them properly. In business, rushing into decisions without considering potential consequences can result in serious setbacks or even permanent damage, just like leaping onto a train bridge without fully gauging the situation.

This is a super simple tip that I think many TikTok Shop sellers are overlooking…
MISCATEGORIZATION!!!
When uploading your products to TikTok Shop, TikTok tries to auto-categorize your products.
How it feels when TikTok is deciding your category placement
For example, while I was uploading a trendy t-shirt to TikTok Shop, Instead of categorizing it under Womanswear & Underwear → T-shirts.
The product was categorized under “Alcohol Flask” 🧐
Incorrect categorization not only make it difficult for customers to find your product but can also lead to product delisting or suspension from TikTok Shop 😱
Be meticulous and ensure your products are categorized under the appropriate nodes to maintain their standing and visibility on TikTok Shop.
It’s easy enough to edit the categories.
TikTok Seller Center → Products → Manage Products → Edit → Category → then adjust to the correct node
